Their love was innocent.
Their friendship was pure.
Their fear was real.
Their danger was true.

When little Marlena is left to care for an abandoned wolf pup, her parents see their irrevocable bond, and this humble family embarks on an adventure trying to care for the needs of a rapidly growing wolf, and the needs of their headstrong daughter. The comical complications of such a venture only darken when Marlena, now a high school student, witnesses her wolf shift… into a young man.

Secrets and the pure hatred from a man out for revenge take Marlena, her family and her wolf on a heartbreaking journey of devastating loss, captivity, and ultimate sacrifices.

This love story will haunt you well after you finally set this book down.

My Wolf and Me is a heartbreaking tale of love and loss. Sacrifices are made, paths are chosen, and love stays strong through it all.

It starts with an innocent child too imaginative for her own good who makes friends with a wolf couple. They have a pup a few weeks or months later, and he becomes her best friend. At such a young age, Marley doesn’t think it’s odd that she plays with Wolves, that they’re friendly, or that they love her and protect her so much. And that kickstarts their entire journey of companionship as the young pup’s parents die and he’s left alone, only to be taken in by Marley once her parents realize he means no harm and there’s no getting rid of him.

The romance is innocent, a simple love that you can’t live without but don’t fully understand enough to embrace fully. And even when they do understand it, even when they experience desires they’ve never felt before and wish to explore them, their love never loses that innocent feeling, where it’s so pure and true that no matter what happenes, nothing can taint it or tear them apart.

“It was at that very moment, when reality showed itself, that Romy became the most important entity in my life. Something deep in my heart made me realize that he most likely would always be.”

Their love is tested over and over again, especially when somethin horrible happens and they’re forced to do things they never would have before, and it breaks your heart to see them go through such pain. And even as they love, their friendship stays strong. They are connected, bonded because of all they’ve gone through together and all they have yet too. The story starts sweet and hopeful and innocent, and turns into something deadly and dark. Their love shines through the darkness though, and it’s brilliantly written.

“I don’t know how long we sat side by side, leaning on each other, and it didn’t matter. I would’ve stayed next to him forever.”

Loyalty plays a huge part near the end. Sacrifices are made, tears are shed, and death is everywhere. But to getbout, o be free, they must stick together. The others are loyal, they eat only if their leaders do, and they will fight to death to see them out alive. It was heartening to read about, even while it broke you.

My only complaint about this book it that Romy/Sebastion was a bit odd when he turned human, acting like a little kid. He learned everything else very quickly, but still couldn’t talk more his age until long after, until horror struck them. That didn’t seem to fit with the story, it stood out.

Overall though, My Wolf and Me is a hearfelt tale of love and loss, sacrifice and growth. It evokes strong emotions and is not a book you will soon forget.
